Newent Christmas Fun

Saturday 28th November 2009 was a great Christmas Lights Party.

The event started with the opening of the Christmas Market at "The Old Shambles" at 12Noon, followedby a Christmas Market and music and dancing under the Market Square. There was a display by the Craftworkers Guild in the Memorial Hall. Father Christmas arrived by double decker bus with Mark Harper MP and the switch-on will took place at 5.15pm with Mayor of Newent, Father Christmas, and Mark Harper MP.

As 'Snow' fell by the Market House, a multitude of market stalls, hot food, drink and roast chestnuts, and Santa in the grotto at "THe Old Shambles" ensured a festive night to remember!

IIn 2010 Christmas Lights will be turned on on Saturday 27th November.
