Newent Christmas Fayre

With a horse drawn parade featuring Mary and Joseph with a Donkey, Saturday 24th November 2007 was a great Christmas Lights Party.

The event started at 2.30pm with the opening of the Christmas Market and the fairground rides. The switch-on will took place at 5.30pm with Mayor of Newent, Father Christmas, and the winners of the Christmas poster competition (one winner from Glebe Infants Scool and one from Picklenash Junior School) .

As 'Snow' fell by the Market House and live music filled the air, fairground rides, a multitude of market stalls, hot food, drink and roast chestnuts, a display by the Craftworkers Guild in the Memorial Hall and Santa in the grotto ensured a good time was had by all. Hot food, drink and roast chestnuts and entertainment made it a festive night to remember!
