Following the success of last year's event, the Newent Initiative has instructed the Newent Arts Festival to form into an official body to run future events.

The Festival's aim is to involve all age groups from the communities of Newent and surrounding area, with a long weekend of family entertainment including art, cinema, performing arts, children's entertainment, music, photography, art workshops, crafts and a circus school.

Newent comes alive with a selection of live music, cinema, poetry readings, guided walks and story-telling. There are also a number of art and craft exhibitions throughout the festival. The event also coincides with the popular Dancing Through the Dean festival.

Also the event sees the Grand Final of the Forest's "Battle of the Bands" held by the lake side.
